An insight about my drawings and video projects

Drawing is in the center of my visual vision. What categories drawing is difficult because artist translate and project every vision somehow through drawing. My earliest drawings from the years 2013 and 2014 were inspired by the German and French writers like Franz Kafka and Albert Camus. A vision in which human disguise himself in order to survive his relationships and miserable destiny in the modern society. Later during my BFA in Lahore, I realised that the concept of disguising is very prominent through out the history of Mughal Miniature and Farsi literature like in Shahnameh of Ferdowsi. In my late drawings from 2022 onward I have derived inspiration from Mughal miniatures  and Farsi Literature to expand the concept of disguising in my drawings with a complete personal approach.

My projects on video and installation are coming from a personal interest in film and slow motion in Andrei Tarkovsky films. In my video projects I intent to observe external changes on the subject while it experience an internal punishment and erosion. My concepts for the video and installation are inter-connected to the concept of disguising. For realising my video projects I rely mostly on the actions and happening in different rituals, customs and ceremonies because time and the measure of it is more sensible in the traditional ritual people experience today. For the pieces like - Appearance and Disappearance, and Erosion of Time - I approached the projects  about disguising from a complete religious and ritual comprehension of Baptism and Mourning for death.
